How To Create A Twisted Updo

How To Create A Twisted Updo. The look of the twisted updo is chic, polished, and works for all face shapes. You can wear this look to any formal event, party, or even just because. Look below for step by step tips on how to create this look.

1. Make a side part and take three inches of the hair closest to the front and pin to the side.

2. Take another three inches from the crown of the head, right behind the section of hair you just marked off and pin  that to the side as well.

3. You should be left with two sections of hair on both sides of your head.

4. Take the hair from the right section, and twist hair into a low ponytail, you should go from your temple to the nape of your neck.

5. Take the hair from the left section, and do the same but make sure you keep hair on an angle.

6. You should be left with 2 “rolls” on each side of you head.

7. With the hair in the low ponytail, you should coil pieces together and allow them to fold into each other, just use pins to hold hair in place.

8. Take the top section from the crown of your head and twist that piece loosely like a rope and pin it to your head.

9. Take the last section of hair and fold the hair into the rolls with your finger and pin all loose pieces with your finger.

Winter Haircare Tips

Winter Haircare Tips. The best way to take care of your hair during the winter months. Many women dread the winter season since it can wreck havoc on their lovely locks. The season as a whole often results in dry, brittle hair that lacks moisture and looks alot like hat hair. Definitely not a look to be proud of.  Make sure during the winter season that you’re always conditioning your hair on a regular basis, and drink plently of water. Look below for more winter haircare tips.

Top Tips To Remember

  1. Always protect your hair from the winter cold by wearing hats, scarfs, or some type of cap. You can always use a hoot to protect your hair from the wind.
  2. Never go outside with a wet head, not only can it make your sick but if your hair gets cold it will freeze and easily become brittle.
  3. Use a humidifier in your home to bring moisture in the air good for both your skin and your hair.
  4. Try to stay away from using heat too often on your hair, blow dryers and curling irons. If you can instead of washing your hair in the morning try washing it at night and letting your hair air dry in the nighttime.
  5. Always use leave in conditioners to help gain more moisture in your locks and always use cold water to give your hair shine and lock in moisture.
  6. Use hair products made for winter haircare , these products will help give your hair moisture.
  7. On a weekly basis try using a hair mask, or some form of conditior for softer, moist locks.
  8. When washing your hair stay away from hot water, always use lukewarm since it’s less drying on both your skin and hair.

How To Do Kristen Stewart’s Hairstyle From The VMA’s

How To Do Kristen Stewart’s Hairstyle From The VMA’s. Kristen Stewart Hairstyles always looks chic and trendy with a bit of a rocker edge and at the VMA’s earlier this week she had blunt bangs and a chic bun. Learn how to get her look as Celebrity Stylist for Pantene, Hallie Bowman tells us how.

  • Hallie started by shampooing and conditioning Kristen’s hair with a moisturizing formula to create a good base for styling
  • She began by cutting bangs to create roundness around the cheekbones, a look that is complimentary of her heart shape face
  • Hallie applied the Pantene Pro-V Volume Root Lifter Gel from root to tip to begin building volume, as well as the Pantene Pro-V Texture Spray Wax to make hair more malleable for styling
  • Then, she blow dried Kristen’s hair while brushing it away from the scalp, periodically flipping her hair over to ensure lots of volume at the crown
  • Hallie then pinned sections of her hair back with bobby pins to secure it away from the face, leaving some pieces around the face to give the illusion of a bob with bangs – a nod to the bowl cut, but with a modern feel
  • To polish off the look, Hallie used the Pantene Pro-V Smooth Serum to give Kristen’s hair long lasting shine for the night
